The Deer Lakes Aquatic Club was founded in 1999 to promote fitness, self-motivation skills, sportsmanship, and prepare the local youth for competitive swimming. Deer Lakes Aquatic Club (DLAC) is a member of Allegheny Mountain Swimming, and all swimmers are registered with USA Swimming.
We offer a guided age-group youth program for children age 5 and up. From the beginner to the most competitive and skilled swimmer, DLAC offers instruction for everyone.
The club is divided into a few levels: bronze, silver, gold, master’s and high school conditioning. At each level, the goals and objectives are specific and directed toward meeting the needs of the swimmer. Each child will progress at his/her own rate. The coaching staff recognizes this fact by making team assignments based on a swimmer's physical, mental, and emotional level of development.
We successfully provide year round instruction to anyone! From curious 5 year olds who love the water to avid swimmers striving to attain their personal bests. Every swimmer benefits greatly from the excellence of our first rate coaching staff. Visit the Deer Lakes High School swimming pool if you’d like to see our coaches and swimmers train in person.
Club members practice at the Deer Lakes High School pool. The pool is typically available to the club Monday through Saturday. Swimmers are free attend practice on a flexible schedule that suits their needs. Team suits are not mandatory but appropriate swimming attire and swim goggles are required.
Our club participates in a variety of swim meets, from dual meets as a beginner, to qualifying meets such as Age Group Championships and Junior Olympics at the intermediate and advanced levels.
DLAC is managed by a volunteer board of directors.
